Looking for a creative, fun, and easy Halloween activity inspired by It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown? Your toddler or preschooler will love this activity using a real pumpkin and refining their fine motor skills while flexing some creativity!

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a classic Halloween Book for kids and one of my daughter's favorites to read over and over again each Spooky Season! It's a story of hope, perseverance, and faith.

I'm calling this fine motor pumpkin sticker activity the Charlie Brown Pumpkin since it reminds me of the classic Charles Schulz characters hair, clothes and depictions in general.

Supplies:

Step-By-Step Tutorial For It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Halloween Activity For Toddlers + Preschoolers: Fine Motor Skills!

Setting up your pumpkins:

All you're going to do is use the black marker to draw a design on the pumpkin(s).

You can make this match the classic detailing of Charlie Brown's shirt, your maybe even draw Linus' face on the Pumpkin if you're artsy!

Or you could keep it a bit more general and just draw whatever you'd like! Lines, numbers, letters, a Jack-O-Lantern face, whatever really!

Doing this activity:

Give the pumpkin to your child and have them use the black dot stickers to fill in or trace the drawing you did in black.

If you drew a Charlie Brown inspired scene, I'd suggest reading the book right before!

Pulling in more of “The Great Pumpkin” theme:

No matter what drawing you went with, you can pull in more of “The Great Pumpkin” theme from the book by placing your completed pumpkin around the house and making it kind of an “Elf On The Shelf” situation. Since “The Great Pumpkin” is known for bringing presents after all!

Set up and clean up time:

This activity takes about 1-5 minutes to set up (depending on how intricate your drawing is)!

Other than that, you're all set! Just be sure to let your marker dry on the pumpkin before giving it to your kid!

And unless your kid sticks stickers elsewhere, there's no clean up for this. You can display your completed pumpkin on your porch with other jack-o-lanterns. It's a fun way to get toddlers or preschoolers involved in pumpkin decorating without using knives too!

How my toddler enjoyed this activity:

She LOVED it! She's been very into circle stickers and loves anything hands on that's 3D so this was the perfect match. Plus, tying in one of her favorite children's Halloween books made it a surefire success!

Parents, rest assured this is also a great fine motor activity and encourages a love of literacy when combined with reading Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin!
