Dollar Tree Halloween 2023: Pastel Halloween Pink Aesthetic DIY Ideas

This could honestly be my favorite year of Dollar Tree Halloween DIY decorations yet! I opted for a more kid-friendly Halloween decor focusing on pastel pink “aesthetic” pumpkins and cute ghosts.

Supplies

This year's Dollar Tree Halloween decorations use the following supplies in just about all of them:

Dollar Tree Halloween Wreath

This Dollar Tree Halloween wreath is my new favorite cheap Halloween DIY decoration for the front door I've ever done! Can you believe it cost under $9?!?!

Seriously, you have to make this adorable skull wreath! In the blog post tutorial, I cover tips for creating it in a different color palette/aesthetic too if you prefer to do a black Halloween wreath DIY instead!

Fingerprint Monster Pumpkins

These Dollar Tree pumpkins make an excellent Halloween keepsake for parents (which let's be real make best halloween decorations of all!) – and is a fun Halloween craft for toddlers!

Use your kids thumbprints to decorate the craft pumpkins, then use markers to draw on monster faces! For more Halloween fingerprint art ideas click here!

Glow in the Dark Monster Pumpkins

This is a great Halloween DIY craft to do with kids! You'll just need some Dollar Tree craft pumpkins, acrylic paint, glow in the dark paint, and makers.

Paint two coats of your desired base color on the pumpkin, then a coat (or two) of the glow in dark paint. Let it dry. Afterwards, you'll use markers or paint to add your monster face! This is a great project to invole the kids in too.

Spider Pumpkin

I painted two coats of acrylic paint in my desired color onto the Dollar Tree pumpin While that dried, I spray painted some spiders from the Dollar Tree spider cob webbing. I cut a little slit in the foam pumpkin, then just pushed one plastic spider in at a time.

I'm obsessed with how simple this was yet how cute it is!

TIP: To get rid of the “foam” texture of the Dollar Tree pumpkins, just keep adding more coats of acrylic paint

Cute Ghost Pumpkins

I'm all about cute ghosts Halloween decor this year! I even made these digital download for you guys with over 67 cute ghosts to use as Halloween wall art decorations, Halloween invitiations, and more!

This is really simple, just paint your pumpkin your desired color and let it dry. Afterwards, paint a few layers of white in the shape of a ghost. This doesn't need to be perfect as we'll be outlining it!

Once those dry, grab a black permanent marker and outline the ghost and draw some eyes!

Trendy Phrase Pumpkins

We've all seen the adorable pumpkins with written text on them at Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, and Target. But what if I told you they're incredibly easy to DIY for a fraction of the cost?!

That's right! Simply get some colored pumpkins and some letter stickers and go wild! Some of my favorite Halloween puns to put on pumpkins:

  • Boo!
  • Witch better have my candy
  • Trick or treat yo self
  • Whatever spices your pumpkin
  • If you've got it haunt it
  • Creepin' it real
  • I'm here for the boos
  • Bow down witches
  • Spice Spice Baby
  • Little Pumpkin
  • You are the pick of the patch
  • Fall Y'all
  • Happy Haunting
  • BOO-tiful
  • Hallow-Queen
  • Eerie-sistible
  • Squash goals
  • Go big or gourd home
  • Feelin gourd
  • Ahead of the carve
  • Have a gourd time
  • Life is gourd
  • Gourd my candy!

DIY Cousin Itt from the Addams Family!

IT'S THE ADDAMS FAMILY! Throwing it back with this Dollar Tree Halloween DIY!! Both my daughter and I love having Cousin Itt around. I share a few different ways you can customize this in the DIY Cousin Itt Tutorial. This is an item I'd pick up EARLY in the season as the grass hula skirts tend to go away in the later months.

The DIY Cousin Itt is one of my all time favorite and most popular dollar tree halloween crafts to date! It's a great way to dress up your space with some spooky fall decor! I did have to purchase the hat here, but you could hit up your local thrift store! Either way it doesn't cost a lot of money and is a total hit!

and don't @ me because my Cousin It doesn't have sunglasses! My toddler keeps taking them off and his hat off, so this is what I'm working with LOL

Witch Hats

Watch the tutorial for the paper witch hats here:

Okay you all loved the DIY paper bats last year that I knew I wanted something just as simple and fun! Enter DIY paper witch hats! I love these because you can hang them from doorways or your ceiling using a little sticky tack OR you can just place them on a table or mantle as decor. Either way it's super easy!

Dollar tree items you'll need:
  • Black poster paper
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue
  • White thread
  • Halloween tubing from the Dollar Tree

Step 1: Forming the top of your witch hat

You'll cut your black poster board into semi-circles. Then just round it out until it forms a cone. Glueing the edge down.

Step 2: Cutting the base

Next you'll cut a circle that about an 2 inches wider in diameter than the top of the witch hat you just made. To do this, I just placed my cone on top of the black poster paper, and did a rough sketch of how wide I wanted my brim.

Once you cut the circle out, cut the middle out. Keeping a fairly wide brim still. Essentially creating the letter O.

Step 3: Attaching your top and bottom

Slide your base over the top of your cone. It should get stuck and not fall to the bottom. Your cone probably has some rough edges, that's okay. All your going to do is note how much of the cone is beneath the base (ideally about a half an inch or less). Then you'll just cut about a half of an inch slits all around the cones bottom.

Fold the slit up so they sit flush on the table and add a drop of hot glue to each of them. Now just slide the hat base back over the top of the cone. This time is should sit flush on the table and on top of the slits with glue. Press firmly so the glue secures.

Step 4: Ribbon

Add a little of the Halloween tubing from the Dollar tree by going around the brim where the top of the hat meets the base with some hot glue. Then just afix your tubing. Do this gently – we want it to keep the tube form and not get flushed flat. Also the tubing is holey, so be careful of your fingers. You can get finger covers at the Dollar Tree if you're nervous.

Step 5: Displaying

You can put these on a table or mantle and display flat.

Or you can hang them from doorways or ceilings for a more magical feel (what I did). To do this, just get a piece of sewing thread and figure out how long you want your hat to hang. Add a small dot of glue to the tip of your hat and afix the sewing string. Then just get some sticky tack or tape and attach it to your ceiling, doorway, or wherever you want it to hang from!
