Pin The Tail On The Bunny DIY Game (FREE Printable!)

Wondering how to make an Easter themed pin the tail on the bunny game? I'm sharing exactly how I DIY'ed this color matching game for my toddler, ways to adapt it as a game for the whole family, plus a FREE printable template you can download and use in two sizes!

Supplies:

Colored Construction Paper + scissors OR Print this template
Pom poms/cotton balls that match the colored paper you're using
Tape or some sort of double sided sticky adhesive that's toddler safe

How to set up bunny tails coloring match game for toddlers:

Step 1: Create your bunnies

There are two options, you can either print this out – which is a FREE Easter Toddler Activities Printable book – including the exact page I used, 6 colored bunnies you could use or you could use for Bunny Hop: Easter Toddler Activity for Gross Motor Skills, and coloring pages.

OR you can cut out bunnies using different colored construction paper.

Depending on the size you cut your bunnies, you may be able to re-use this for my “Bunny Hop” Easter/Spring Themed Toddler Activity!

Step 2: Prep your bunny tails

We'll use colored pom poms for bunny tails. You can give these to your toddler loose, so they don't technically stick and they just match the color.

Or you can add a sticky adhesive (double sided tape, glue dots, etc.) to make the pom poms stickers. I also found some colored pom poms at the Dollar Tree that already had a sticky adhesive, I just removed the eyes/tag.

Another option is to hot glue the pom poms onto a clothes pin, and have your toddler work on fine motor skills by clipping the “bunny tails” onto the bunnies. I'm personally going to do this next year as I don't think my daughter's hands are strong enough for it at 2 years old and the glue adhesive/sticky tape struggled to stay on the pom pom.

How my toddler (2 year old) enjoyed this activity:

She LOVED it! We played with it until the paper was just too crumbled/pompoms were just not sticking any more.

It's definitely not an activity that takes a long time. She'd get the bunny tails pinned and want me to reset it in like 5 minutes. As a result I gave this to her at the kitchen counter while she hung out in her toddler tower and I prepped dinner.
