Happy Fall! With Thanksgiving right around the corner and Turkey day on all of our minds, I wanted to share a last minute quick and cheap fall tablescape! The items you'll need for this can all be found at the dollar store, in nature, at your grocery store, or left over from Halloween! I love a good cost-effective upcycle after all! Whether you're hosting a Friendsgiving of Thanksgiving dinner itself, you'll surely impress with this last minute, cheap tablescape that I'm sharing with you guys!
What you'll need for your last minute quick and cheap fall tablescape:
- Pumpkins and gourds (use any leftover from Halloween, or purchase at grocery store. Gourds cost me .60)
- One fall bouquet full of vibrant yellows, oranges, or reds (my mums cost $3.99)
- Tea light candles (16 for $1 at the dollar store)
- Table runner (I used leftover cloth from the dollar store's Halloween selection, you can also use brown paper from the dollar store)
- Leaves. You can either pick up a bushel of eucalyptus, go outside and find some color leaves, or pick the leaves off your flower bouquet and mix them with the fall fabric bouquets from the Dollar store

How to style your Last Minute Quick & Cheap Fall Tablescape
Fall Tablescape Step 1: Lay your runner
I used the leftover creepy white cloth from the Dollar Tree's Halloween selection. It's pretty holey so I folded it into thirds then kind of squished/crumpled it so it filled in more space. You can also use the brown postal wrapping paper from the Dollar Tree which makes for a really fun table decor where you can draw on it too; or whatever you have on hand.
Fall Tablescape Step 2: Place your anchoring gourds
Next, I used a larger pumpkin as my centerpiece, and laid out the remaining gourds as my anchoring pieces. The larger pumpkin as a centerpiece can be left exactly as is, or you can cut it open and use the pumpkin to display a flower arrangement or fill it with food for your actually Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving day meal!
Fall Tablescape Step 3: Add fall flowers
Take your fall flower bouquet and cut off some of the flower stems. You'll want to arrange them around the center pumpkin to create a wreath effect. Set aside the remaining flower buds for later.

Fall Tablescape Step 4: Add leaves
Go outside and get some beautiful fall foliage for the next step. If you don't have colorful fall leaves, use the fall fabric bouquets from the Dollar Tree like I did. You'll simply pop off a few leaves and place them underneath your gourds. You'll also want to mix in some of the real leaves from your flower bouquet. This is a great little hack to make faux plants seem real (mixing thing with real plants).
Fall Tablescape Step 5: Fill in the gaps
Lastly, you'll want to take your remaining flower buds and fill in any gaps around your gourds and leaves. You'll also take your tea candle lights and fill in any spaces on the runner.
Ta-da! A beautiful last minute, quick and cheap fall tablescape that is sure to wow your friends and family at your Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving this year!
Pumpkin Tea Light Candle Holders
So if you watched the video tutorial, you saw my attempt at this. You can cut the top of the pumpkin off to make it a tealight candle holder if you'd like. Here's my suggestions:
Be careful when cutting the top off.
Do not have you hand underneath the pumpkin! It's really easy to cut all the way through the bottom and we don't need any trips to urgent care!
Stuff the pumpkin.
Once you have your top off, stuff the inside of the pumpkin with paper towels or something so the candle has something to sit on. I ended up pushing three candle in! Oops!

What a beautiful tablescape! I hope that you will do one for winter, as well 🙂 I did a tablescape for our company Christmas party last year, and I’m hoping to change it up a bit this year.
