EEEE! I'm so excited to share the last room in our home tour (for now – we actually do have another bedroom that's just storage right now until we maybe get pregnant one day?!): Our Master Bedroom!
The inspiration for this room was minimalism meets industrial decor and it was definitely the trickiest. It's the first room we actually got the bulk of stuff for, but then it took forever to finish. The space is really big, with super high ceilings, tons of light, and very bright. Sounds perfect, right? Well we also wanted this room to be a minimalists serene dream – so finding the balance between minimal and serene was definitely a struggle.
Plus, if you've read past room reveals, you know we moved in with almost no furniture to our name. I wanted to feel inspired by every piece we brought into our home. I didn't want to buy a bunch of stuff just to fill up the rooms. Plus, we live in a rental and I don't want to deal with moving stuff that I'm not passionate about! So when it came to our minimalist bedroom, it took a long time to find just the right pieces to pull it together.

The Mattress
The first item we got for this room is our fabulous Alexander Series mattress from Nest Bedding. You guys might remember me talking about how we settled on them in this post on how to choose a mattress when shopping online.

I can't stress this enough: when shopping for a mattress online, you need to do a ton of research and cross check reviews! Aside from being top rated across tons of sites, they also know that mattresses aren't a “one size fits all” thing, which is why they have a quiz to help you find the best mattress in their collection.
Nest also takes it a step further, by hand making each mattress in the USA! They pride themselves on using organic, natural, and certified materials to ensure that we are sleeping on the cleanest products around! Seriously, the amount of chemicals in bedding and mattresses is crazy! Who wants to sleep on all those toxins?!? Not me! If you've ever purchased a “bed in a box” before, you might be familiar with “off-gassing” that happens – basically makes your entire room stink for about a day due to chemicals – so I was beyond surprised when we opened this baby up and it had NO off-gassing smell! Just good, clean, materials.
The Bed Frame
Once we had a mattress, we needed a bed frame. We both grew up with those old school wood styles that I'm (going to assume) most of our parents have. We decided if we got a wood frame, we wanted it to be ultra industrial or we wanted a grey upholstered frame. Ultimately it came down to the right price at the right time, and we snagged this one on Amazon for $400!
Pro tip: Make sure you watch prices on Amazon! This bed frame can fluctuate to as low as $400 to as high as $650!

Even though we purchased the upholstered frame, we knew we wanted to bring in some industrial vibes to this room to contrast the brightness with some warmer woods and fun metals. Which is how we decided on the Coaster Arcadia collection dresser and nightstands (sold out) also from Amazon.
Pro tip: Google the names of a brand or collection, or use the Google image search feature to find sold out products!

The TV Stand and Bookshelf:
After the night stand and dresser were squared away, we started hunting for a TV stand and bookshelf.
For our TV stand, I felt super torn. The price of a traditional entertainment center seemed steep for what I was willing to spend. I also didn't want to lug a big heavy piece of furniture up three floors. Honestly, have no idea where I found this super basic table, but I know it was really cheap and on sale. I found this similar one though that's a little nicer.
I knew I wanted one with a shelf that I could put some personal trinkets on to warm up the space. Around the same time, my mom asked me to sell everything in one of her houses on Craigslist. When doing the inventory I found this old wooden race car that was my dads and knew I wanted it for our bedroom.

Lastly, I have so many books just piled up all over our house that I knew I wanted to get some off the floor and onto a shelf. I found this bookshelf on super sale at Target (no longer available – but I found a couple of similar options (one and two) that are reasonably priced!
Pro Tip: Flip books so the spin faces the wall to create a more minimalist/uniform feel

The Tchotchkes:
From the books I added in tchotchkes. As you know, every room in our house has to have a salt lamp, because #ions. I found the gold jack at Homegoods, and decided to use some more of the gold star bursts I found at Target to bring the jack and other metal colors together. From there, I had a few framed photos from our wedding of people who were close to me that passed away (my dad, grandma, and one of my best friends). I decided to move one of the pictures from our living room book shelf up here to balance out the gold touches.

On either side of the TV, I wanted to fill in the space with some greenery to warm it up. We found this suitcase at Homegoods and the plant was from clearing out my moms house. The two perfectly complimented each other:
Pro Tip: Saving money on fun suitcase stylings by using one large one sitting tall, instead of stacking three to get the same height!

UPDATE:
(scroll up 5 photos to see the before!)
I’M SO EXCITED!! So when I originally published this post – there were two things that drove my crazy about our room: lighting and the right side of our TV stand. We actually only use our salt lamp at night, which can make it a little tough to see. I’d been searching for justtt the right lamp to bring in the industrial vibe when I stumbled across this one from Versanora!! The color works SO well for the colors in the room!
And then the right side of our table stand I REALLY wanted a bigger chair. I put the white chair there as a temporary solution, but honestly it’s too small for the space. This Versanora chair was the perfect find! It actually matches the texture and color of the briefcase PERFECTLY. Aside from being gorgeous, it’s super comfortable and much more affordable than a lot of the other accent chairs I had been looking at.
The Wall Hangings:
The picture frames on either side of the TV were purchased at Michaels. Originally I thought I'd put them on either side of the ocean print above our bed, but they were too small for the space.

Actually, TBH, we really struggled with what to put on either side of the ocean print (found at Homegoods). We tried hats, but mine were so big and E's were so small that it didn't look quite right. We also tried these macrame and vine hangers instead of the plants on the night stands, but it looked kind of funny. So we decided to just leave the wall space empty, it's a rental after all! But if you have any suggestions you guys have for that area would be awesome!

And that's it! That's our minimalist industrial bedroom! TBH, the throw pillows on the bed are actually from my office – we normally just use all white in the bedroom but felt like the photos need a pop of color! I kind of like them here though so maybe I'll keep them in this room ?! I really love how it all came together. It feels comfy, cozy, and relaxing while still being very us!
