During a recent trip to Utah I had the chance to explore Big Cottonwood, Salt Lake City, Park City, and so much more! We were there on Pioneer Day for the Days of 47 Celebration. Pioneer Day is when the Mormon pioneers arrived in Salt Lake Valley on July 24th, 1847 (which I think is why they call it days of '47) after many had tried, failed, and died in the previous attempts. It's a major state holiday.

Muir Woods is a National Park on Mount Tamalpais near the Pacific coast, in southwestern Marin County, California. It protects 240 acres of old growth coast redwood (Sequoia) forests. Sausalito is a San Francisco Bay Area city also in Marin County, California. Sausalito was developed as a shipbuilding center in World War II. Spending a day in the Santa Monica Mountains gives you a lot of hiking options. I really wanted to explore what my friends say is the best hike, Sandstone Peak, but decided to go with Topanga Canyon's Los Leones trail up to the Parker Mesa Overlook followed by lunch at Malibu Farms on the Malibu Pier. - The Confused Millennial
