I Am Cindy Lou

Following Cindy Lou Who around Whoville at Christmas time as they bake treats, wrap presents, and celebrate the season. The book is set after the Grinch has tried to steal Christmas and gives a subtle nod to that story without going too much into it.

Great rhyming, easy read, and sturdy makes this book a great options for babies and toddlers IMO.

I Am Max

A condensed board book spin-off of The Grinch, which follows the Grinch's dog, Max around. Max shares what the Grinch was like before and since he tried to steal Christmas.

The rhyming is a little off sometimes and there is a plot gap IMO (it jumps from “Christmas came without presents to the Grinch's heart grew” – but how?)

My daughter loves it though. For toddler's it's a great book to point out and identify different things.

The story is beautiful! And my daughter was surprisingly obsessed with this book. It follows Miyuki and her Grandfather around for the day teaching the concept that every moment of the day is an opportunity to meditate and practice mindfulness/presence.

Little Audrey's Daydream

Written by Audrey Hepburn's children, the book tells the life story of Audrey Hepburn from her POV as a child. From birth to the Nazi Occupation, to her love of acting and dance, to becoming a humanitarian. It's a beautiful story that introduces some big concepts. Once again though, my daughter loves it. Fans of Audrey Hepburn will love it and I anticipate it'd make a great read for older preschool and young elementary school aged children as well.

First 100 Animals Flap Book

My daughter LOVES this book. It's great if you're following montessori at home too! It focuses on REAL pictures of the animals while teaching so many concepts. For instance, where you can find certain animals, colors, baby animal names, and so much more.

Nasla's Dream

I did NOT expect my daughter to like this book – but she shockingly did. It teaches some big concepts about letting go of childhood things, taming our imagination, and building safety and security within. Definitely a book that's probably more “appropriate” for 5-7 year olds, but my toddler is a fan.

Endangered Animals: How You Can Help

This book is dense. Sharing all about vulnerable and endangered species. The images are illustrations of the animal silhouettes – not the actual animals. I think this book may be good for like 3rd graders – but it did not hold my toddlers attention. While I love the concept, the layout and execution feels overwhelming.
