EASY Fine Motor Activity For Toddlers: Pom Pom Ornament
Using one of the large sphere ornaments from the Dollar Tree you can find in the holiday craft section, pop off the silver lid.
Give the open sphere ornament to your toddler with a container full of pom poms (I just used the holiday themed pom poms from the Dollar Tree).
You may need to model this activity for your toddler the first time. Simply showing them how to place the pom poms inside of the ball ornament.
As you can see from the video above, after showing my daughter just one time, she immediately wanted to try it for herself!
This is SUCH a fun activity for younger and older toddlers! Parents can feel great about it too since it's an amazing fine motor activity.
For older toddlers and preschoolers, you can make this more challenging by having them use a set of toddler tweezers instead of their fingers. Just say to them, “we are going to try something fun! You can't touch the pom poms with your hands! Only the magical tweezers can touch them!” See how they do!
Lastly, my daughter enjoyed flipping this over and trying to pull the pom poms back out – another great fine motor activity!
