Things I Loved In February

5 THINGS I LOVED IN FEBRUARY

Happy March! Things have been crazy around here! SO many things happening around here in February! First…

Our birth story!

I mean I lived it in January, but in February I shared it with you all! It's easily one of my favorite posts and podcast episodes ever! I mean, not just because it ends with holding our baby girl in our arms, but also because it was one of my favorite experiences (if not my absolute favorite) of my entire life! I was on such a high after giving birth! I mean, I couldn't fall asleep for 12 hours after! And the entire week that followed I felt like super woman! Read about my unmedicated birth in a hospital here or listen to it here.

Reflecting on pregnancy

First, I shared these tips for increasing your odds of getting pregnant thanks to the insights from a doctor! But the real fun for me last month, was reflecting on my pregnancy. I honestly miss it so much. If I could live in a perpetual state of being 20 weeks pregnant, I totally would. My skin was better, my mood was more balanced, and I felt amazing. Trust me, I never thought I'd be one of those woman who talked about loving being pregnant, let alone missing it! While I'm thrilled to have my daughter, each day I put my hands on my belly and can't help but feel a little sad about how empty my stomach feels. Here are some of the things they don't tell you about being pregnant (spoiler: one of them is you may miss it!).

Answering your questions!

I finally got around to writing up some blog posts for some of the most FAQ's I get! Here are a couple:

How to podcast

I get so many Q's about podcasting all the time! So I rounded up all the things you'll need to start your own podcast this year! I know so many people have been wanting to! It really is so much fun and such a rewarding practice!

To blog or not to blog?

This is probably one of the most common Q's that land in my inbox! That and “I want to start a blog, how long until I make money?!” So I answered them both in this post on 5 reasons to start a blog and 5 reasons not to! Because while I loveeee blogging, it's not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot more work than people realize (if it's your living, if it's a hobby that's another story), with frequent 16 hour days when you're building it up! Oh and don't get me started on the emotional rollercoaster of comparison, losing yourself, finding yourself, and all that goodness!

Financesss

A lot of you have shared with me your fears about opening up a credit card again after destroying your credit score in your earlier years. So I was really excited to share the 5 factors that make up your credit score so you can have a better understanding of how your behavior impacts your credit score; and 4 reasons to let go of your fear of credit cards!

We officially are home owners!

We officially closed on our first home this month too! I know, I know, a newborn, starting a company, AND a house!? We are definitely a bit overwhelmed but loving all the positive changes. It's been a total whirlwind and I'm thinking about writing a post about the home buying process (from an emotional standpoint), would you guys be interested?! I'm also planning on doing WAY more YouTube content this year, so make sure you're subscribed to my channel, I'll be sharing our hour tour soon!

Growing with all the changes

February was a lot. Like I just said – newborn, house, company – I definitely felt like I was cracking under the weight of it all at times. So I laughed when I was asked to write a post on optimism, which was exactly what I needed in that moment. I shared all my tips for cultivating optimism in this post (it's probably one of my favorites I've written in a while!).

What did you love in February?
